East Coast Bays AFC TDP and PDC NZF Accreditation

17 Dec

East Coast Bays AFC was awarded yesterday with the highest possible accreditation from New Zealand Football for our Player Development Centre and Talent Development Programmes working with players from 8 -17 years old.

This formal accreditation comes at the end of three years of planning and is recognition of the high-quality coaching that is available at the club.

The Player Development Centre program is available to all boys and girls aged between 8 and 12. The program is designed to provide clear training guidelines based on international best practice for a junior footballer who is showing potential to play at a high level, as well as those who just love playing football with their friends.  It is also designed to increase and retain the number of junior footballers in the game through the delivery of a high-quality football experience.

Regardless of motivation or ability levels, players should enjoy a high-quality experience at all stages of their football development.  This framework aims to meet the needs of all young players while ensuring they can move across the spectrum of community recreational football right through to the top levels of football.

The East Coast Bays New Zealand Football (NZF) Talent Development Programme provides an aligned, coordinated approach to the development of high potential youth footballers, aged 13-17 years. Its main aim is to provide a challenging, structured programme for players, in an enjoyable environment that maximizes player development.

It is highly likely that the game in the future will be quicker, more technical, and tactical, and the demands on our younger players will be elevated. Through a planned, consistent approach to training, based around principles of long-term Player Development, East Coast Bays AFC NZF Talent Development Programme provide a platform for players wishing to reach their potential.

Club President Russell Fisher added:

“This is an exciting time for East Coast Bays Football Club with the announcement of the New Zealand Football accreditation for our Talent Development and Player Development Centre programs. While by itself this is a fantastic achievement it is the quality and character of the highly qualified people that provide the coaching that sets us apart from other programs. We are not just growing great footballers but growing great people throughout our club.

I am just as excited to announce that early in 2021 we will be continuing and introducing more free New Zealand Football accredited coaching education programs for all our volunteer and community coaches. These programs will be run often during 2021 and beyond. It is our intention that every player no matter which team they play for or the commitment they want to make to football has a fantastic experience playing football.”

The education programs will be run at times so that everyone has the opportunity to join without having to give up large amounts of extra time and will be completely voluntary.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Director of Football, Kevin Ireland and First Team Head Coach, Dan Cooke for their leadership and dedication in making today’s announcements possible.”
