ECB selected to represent NRF at Youth Futsal Nationals
East Coast Bays has been selected to form six regional NRF Futsal squads, each comprising girls under 15, under 17, and under 19 teams, as well as boys/mixed under 15, under 17, and under 19 teams. These teams will be competing in the upcoming Futsal National Championships taking place in Wellington from December 14th to December 17th.
ECB's Director of Football, Joe Hall said: "We're excited because we want to offer as many different kinds of playing opportunities as possible, and offering futsal is another way to do that. We are really proud to be given the opportunity to put together a programme that can represent players on the North Shore, and for them to do so at NYFC. We think it's something we can throw ourselves behind to do a really good job."
The ECB Futsal coaching team will be running a Futsal skills program during the September holiday break. Following this, there will be two Futsal trials held to select the teams to compete at the national tournament. Specific dates and locations for these events will be communicated at a later time.
In preparation for the Nationals in Wellington, we will be conducting a six-week Futsal team preparation program. This program has been thoughtfully designed to align with the existing ECB Term 4 schedule, enabling players to participate alongside their regular football commitments.
