East Coast Bays Club Update | Welcome Faiz
We are very proud to introduce and welcome our new Football Development Officer, Faiz Syed, to the East Coast Bays coaching team!
Faiz comes to us from Northland FC, where he spent 2022 as a NRFL youth coach and delivering coach education across Northland.
With 10 years coaching experience behind him and senior, youth, and grassroots coaching experience across New Zealand (Christchurch, Wellington and Northland) and in Malaysia and Pakistan, we’re looking forward to seeing his magic at the Bays. His previous roles have included Director of Football and First Team Head Coach at Tikipunga AFC, Skills Centre Lead, U23s and TDP Youth Coach at Petone FC and First Team Head Coach at UCAFC Christchurch.
Faiz is currently completing his OFC/NZF B Licence, is a NZF Community Coach Educator, holds a Bachelor in Sports Coaching - Performance Analysis, and is pursuing MSc in Performance Football Coaching.
In his role as Football Development Officer, Faiz will lead our Girls and Women's Football programmes, lead our community coach education programmes, be our head coach for our NRFL U14 team and Skills Hub Coach and Junior Grade Support.
Faiz is looking forward to joining the Mighty Bays and says: “I'm delighted and incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to coach at the East Coast Bays Football Club. I’m extremely proud to be part of such a forward-thinking club and can’t wait to get started and support the development of NRFL youth players and community coaches at the club. Let’s Go the Mighty Bays!”
Faiz’s personal interests centre around the F5 of life - Family, Football, Friends, Food & Friday night movies. His favourite colour must be blue as we also hear his favourite team is Chelsea FC. Please join us in welcoming Faiz to our club!
