Congratulations Junior on 100 Appearances!
Junior Hits 100 …. Games that is!!!!
If Liam Andersen is picked to start the game this Saturday it will mark the milestone of him playing 100 games for the East Coast Bays First team.
Liam “Junior” Andersen was born on the 27th May 1997 at North Shore Hospital, in Auckland. Liam was educated at Rangitoto College and graduated from Auckland University with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Over the years Liam has played for Forrest Hill, Waitemata, North Shore Utd and of course the Mighty East Coast Bays. Liam’s debut game for Bays was in 2017 when he came off the substitutes bench at Madill’s Farm against Eastern Suburbs and he scored his first Bays goal in that match in a 3-0 win.
Liam’s favourite football teams are East Coast Bays and Liverpool, and his favourite player is Steven Gerrard. Outside of football Liam enjoys playing Volleyball and enjoys playing golf as a hobby.
For those of you that might not know Liam got his nickname because during one season at Bays we had Liam Anderson (in goal) and Liam Andersen both in the same side. So, that’s pretty much where the nickname Junior was born.
Liam’s favourite memory from playing for Bays was scoring the winning goal against Mt Albert Ponsonby last season at Anderson Park (funny that) that finally gave Bays promotion back to the Northern Premier League. Liam really enjoys playing for Bays because of the great culture at the club with the players, the staff & the supporters.
Congratulations to a club favourite on your milestone of a century of games for East Coast Bays. I am proud to call you a good friend as well as a footie mate. Safe travels and here’s to adding to the 100 games on your return.
