Maisey Reaches 50 Bays First Team Games
Nathan Maisey played his 50th game for the East Coast Bays First team on Saturday against Auckland City, at Kiwitea Street.
Nathan Maisey was born on the 8th of December 1999 in Auckland, New Zealand. Nathan was educated at Halsey Drive Primary School, Chaucer Primary School, Blockhouse Bay Intermediate School, Lynfield College and Unitec (University).
Over the years Nathan has played for Three Kings United, Bay Olympic and finally The Mighty East Coast Bays. Nathan’s EC Bays 1st team debut was against Waiheke Utd at Onetangi Park on the 22nd of July 2023 as a substitute and scored his one & only goal for the EC Bays 1st team against Melville at Bay City Park on the 25th of May 2024 with a powerful header. Nathan is renowned for his marauding breaks down in the left wing and his pinpoint crosses like the recent one down at Melville.
Nathan says he doesn’t have a favourite club team, and his favourite Bays memory so far is “Our first game on the new pitch against Onehunga Mangere (a 4-1 home win on the 12th of August 2023). It was a night game, and the pitch was the best pitch I’ve ever played on”. What Nathan likes most about Bays: “It is the best culture I have been a part of. Everyone is super supportive from players, staff and club supporters. I felt welcome to the club as soon as I arrived”.
For work Nathan has recently accepted a new role at Northern Regional Football. The role is Support Officer which entails supporting the 73 clubs across the region in multiple areas. Outside of football Nathan played a tonne of sports growing up with Athletics and football being his main sports. He loves watching the NBA, loves spending time with his dog, enjoys going for a run and chilling with friends in his spare time. His nickname is Maisey, his favourite food is Chicken Carbonara, his favourite drink is a caramel milkshake, and he listens to all types of music (If I like it, I like it).
Congratulations mate on the milestone of your 50th game for Bays and all the very best for the next 50 or so games. Keep up the great work on the left-hand side of the Bays defence.
